Chelsea is proud to be a new part of the Salon Biyoshi team.  Originally from Pennsylvania, Chelsea worked as an apprentice under Pennsylvania's most influential stylists. She is very passionate about her profession, which shows through the care that she gives each of her guests. Chelsea's career has given her the chance to pursue educational opportunities through Matrix cut and color classes and now Redken and Pureology advanced training. These classes keep her remaining focused on what's new in the world of fashion, yet wearable for you for the lifestyle you have. She specializes in color, multi-dimensional highlights and cuts for those of all ages. Chelsea's goal is not only to leave you looking beautiful, but to have you embracing your inner beauty each and every visit. Currently working on:

     Continuing to build my business, learning to wakeboard, teaching myself to play the guitar, and overcoming my fear of singing in front of people.

 

Spends free time:

     Outdoors! I absolutely love being on the lake! Spending time with friends and family, singing, modeling, and reading.

     Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.

 

Things that make me laugh:

     My brother and sister! I am always laughing when I'm around them. My friends and co-workers always make me smile and laugh too.

 

When did you know you wanted to do hair?

     I always loved playing with hair when I was younger but I realized I wanted to make a career out of it shortly after I graduated from high school.

 

Describe your approach to doing hair:

     I like to get to know a little bit about my guest before I suggest a cut, color or style for them so I can get a feel for their personality. I want to give them something that is easy for them to recreate at home and that fits their lifestyle.

 

What inspires your creativity?

     It depends on the day, but most of the time it's classes that I attend, my co-workers, and pictures in magazines.

 

What advise would you give to someone considering coloring their hair for the first time?

     Start out simple! You can always add to the look or do something more drastic once you are used to the color.

 

How do you customize a hair service for each and every guest?

     Since every client is different, consulation and listening is key! I always pay attention to their skin tone, eye color, personal style and I ask questions so that I know what kind of lifestyle they have at home and at their place of work in order for me to make it easy for them to manage their hair on their own.

 

What celebrity always has great hair?

     Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson, and Rihanna.

 

How do you approach cutting hair?

     I pay attention to facial shape, texture, style, and how much time and effort someone is willing to spend on their hair. It's important that they have a cut that they can style on their own because I can't style their hair for them every day!

 

Describe your personal style:

     My style tends to change a lot. But, it's always classy and a little bit edgy.
