Nicole Shoffner

Nicole is a graduate of Paul Mitchell the School Knoxville and since coming to Biyoshi four years ago she has trained under many award-winning stylists, including Justin Isaac, Noah Hatton, Sam Villa and Wendy Belanger. Nicole teaches two classes a year as part of our in-salon cutting education team and is a shift leader!

What are you working on right now?
I am working on improving our men’s hair education program, and continuing education. I never want to stop learning and growing!

How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time doing pinterest projects and building furniture to fill my house with. I am loving working out and running with my two German Shepherds.

Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, mirror what you admire.

When did you know you wanted to be in the beauty industry?
I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry when I got my first American Girl doll. She didn’t have brown hair like me, so I colored it with a marker!

What celebrity always has great hair?
Blake Lively and Jennifer Aniston.

What is your personal style?
My personal style is very organic. I love Earth tones and loose waves.

How do you approach a haircut?
I believe that before approaching a haircut, I need to understand my guest’s lifestyle, personality and routine of how he/she gets ready each day. I want the cut to look the same here as it does at home.

What advice would you have for someone who wants to color their hair for the first time?
Let’s do it! Color can do so much to enhance skin tone, personality, and even create movement in a haircut!
